Design Approach

Design is often seen as a reductionist act, seeking purity, function, lightness, and softness within a given context. It can be fun, serious, complex, or simple, joyous or sombre. Ultimately, design is about finding the tension between these themes.

Time is ultimately what drives design, whether it is the time taken to design an object, or the deeper sense of time instilled in the materials, patina, and craft of the design.

Good design is often described as being ‘timeless’ this implies they are almost without time. Instead, good design carries this weight, it owns time. Good design is therefore ‘time-full’.
